No! Our discs will work with any CD player that can playback a black CD-R.
As of this moment, we are only offering our services for commercially released CDs.
We are currently only providing our services on CDs from major record labels, and a few smaller labels (such as Chesky and Telarc), that follow Red Book CD specifications. This means we will not deal with DualDisc discs or those discs with copy protection. If you are unsure if your disc/s qualify, please email us. We also do not accept discs that have been cut with lathing systems like the Audio Desk CD Sound Improver. The disc/s sent in must be the original, as copies will not be accepted.
You may send in an additional qualifying disc, although you will be charged an additional shipping fee. You may also cancel service for the disc, and we will refund your payment, minus shipping and handling.
We will only make one copy of each title for a customer, unless damage or loss should occur during the return shipment.
Please contact us at info@undigitize.net, so we can discuss your needs and our services.
Due to the time consuming nature of the undigitize process, we split up large orders so we can deliver discs back to our customers as soon as possible.
We strongly recommend insurance on your shipment - as until your discs arrive to undigitize, they are your responsibility should any damage or loss occur.
For the major record labels, they are dealing with millions of sales per month. Due to the time consuming nature of the undigitize process, we are not looking at anywhere near those types of quantities. In order to provide our services, we need a full-time staff. This is not to mention the R&D costs incurred to make this endeavor a reality. If we could lower our prices on a permanent basis, we would.
Your order will only be taxed if your shipping and/or billing address is within California.
As of this moment, we are only offering our services within the United States. California is also on a temporary delay in waits of our sales tax permit.
All sales are final. Returns are not accepted, except in special exceptions (damaged or faulty discs). In these cases your payment will be refunded, minus shipping and handling.
Should we feel it is necessary, we will have informed you of the reasoning of your ban. If not, it is likely due to your character in some nature. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
Based on our experiments with many different CD-R types, we have found that black CD-Rs best capture the qualities of analog. Black CD-Rs also most closely recreate the quality of original digital masters, in our experience. If you would like us to experiment with a different type of CD-R or to use for your order, feel free to contact us.
We of course return them with your undigitized disc/s, as they are your property.
We at undigitize wish to offer you the highest quality audio that is possible. There are some people, including mastering engineers, that feel that labeling a disc can degrade the sonics or integrity of the disc. With this in mind, we do not label our discs so that you can choose to label your discs in the manner you prefer - whether that means a label, using a Sharpie or similar pen, none at all (and labeling the CD case instead), or other technique. We still keep data to ensure we know which discs have been undigitized, and what title they are.
